I always wondered about that. So legally speaking his terms at release were sound. But surely the authorities can arrest him as he lied about being terminally ill?

I doubt he ever outright lied about being terminally ill tbh.
He may have manipulated the doctors who provided the reports but that will be a huge stretch to prove legally.
