What were the arsonists who burnt KZN down charged with? Or did they not get charged because after the fire they didn't notice any change in the scenery because KZN is such a shxthole.

My guess is that those responsible for the July Riots are ANC RET bigwigs in the party, so to keep the peace in the party temporarily they aren't prosecuted.
ANC is known to put party before country...

I genuinely suspect that those behind the Eskom sabotage, the July Riots and the Parliament Fire are all the same people. The problem is if the gov knows who these people are, why not smack them with terrorism and high treason charges? Or are these people beloved high-ranking party members? If Ramaphosa was serious about renewing the ANC and "restoring their reputation" (kind of giggling at that one), then they would make the conspirators' identity public and charge them?

When you're as asset wealthy as a national government of South Africa's scale is, it makes no sense to take out insurance as it will always end up costing more than the loss sustained. Plus who would insure someone as inept/unlucky as the Gov.
