I got a P1010 Galaxy Tab. I basically followed this guide:

http://www.taneyism.com/p1010/P1010-Flashguide.pdf

Everything worked up until the point where the Tab had to reset, you go into that whole beginning part of a new Android device where you choose your language, log into your account etc.
Problem is that a few seconds in, I get the error message "android.process.media" whereby the Tab will just reboot itself, over and over and over. It won't even switch off, just in a constant cycle of switching on and off.

This creates the problem where I can't exactly have the device completely switched off so that I can go into Download Mode so I can't install a new ROM to try out. At this point, the device hasn't completely died yet busy waiting to see what I can do once it does drain itself.

Other than that, what can I do? Do I have a broke Tab :(

I know you've fixed the issue but I would like to know, do the Android tablets not have a hard powerdown option like the iPad? (Standby + main button held together for a short while)

How do you do it? I mean with a phone you just pull the battery out.

Just press and hold the power button for a couple of secs. Even if you can remove the battery its better to to this on other phones as well, when frozen.

How many seconds? That's never worked on my Desire.

I have that stupid galaxy tab 10.1v

When it is on and running normally you just hold the power button in for 3 or so seconds then it asks youif you want to shut down.

In the bootloader you need to hold it down for a long time, till it turns off!

Hey guys,

So turns out if you somehow catch it between the cycles of rebooting and about to turn on, if you hold the power button long enough it will switch off. From there I had to re-do the entire thing, it turns out I missed a step, that link I gave you guys wasn't the whole thing, I completely skipped a part that said "might be an infinite reboot loop, in this case, do this etc".

Did that, then applied Gingerbread.

Voila, it works, was worried about nothing :D First time flashing, I are noob
