British Airways flights cancelled due to IT system failure

British Airways cancelled all its flights from London’s two main airports until Saturday evening after a global computer system outage caused massive delays and left planes stuck on runways.

Unlikely - sites a lot smaller than BA's have a full disaster recovery plan with hot backup sites. It's more likely that their outsourcing to India included killing redundancy as a cost-saving measure.
