I wonder if they are any better than SAA's offers? One time when I went to have my ticket bumped up to business class, they told me my account did not exist, despite a printed letter from SAA. When I got back, I was told that due to a clerical error, my account had been deleted. No offer of refund or compensation and further letters were ignored. It was discussed in Noseweek in 2008 and had happened to several SAA customers

Some British Airways frequent flier accounts have been hacked, but the airline says that most personal information is safe

BA is only marginally better than SA. Avoid both if you can. Fly Virgin between the UK and SA. Costs more, but way better service.
