IMO municipalities have a duty to provide waste & sewerage disposal and treatment.
The more broadband services and competition the better, as long as it's not all talk like it has been since 2005 - the exceptions being Knysna [Uninet] and Pretoria [Neology] where municipal broadband has been rolled out.
I'm pretty sure that many people would settle for just shelter, water, waste removal and electricity. Lets not get too overexcited about broadband being a right... We've got bigger problems to solve first.
agreed, besides, we're still considered to be a 3rd world country ,despite being on the SADC.
free broadband would be fun, but not even water/electricity/shelter is free. All we need it to be is more competitive. this will create a capless environment and hopefully better service delivery. end of story. sort of.
