Sure, National Internet service, but keep it limited to educational and productive stuff.
Use the sabc money and spectrum.
Kids could be homeschooled by teachers that won't kidnap them or burn down their schools.

He's not wrong... But we need to stop equating access to actually getting something for free.

like healthcare and education when you have touched it ,it has all turned to SHYTE.
You actually mean that another corrupt tender should be awarded to the CADRES.

And then he quotes that mythical jobs that doesn't exist yet line:
We need to prepare our young people for jobs that haven’t yet been created.”
This is a patently false concept.

I agree with him in principle. But it doesn't mean everyone should have a 100Mbps fibre line. Wifi hotspots are enough for the general population.

Duh! Naturally a country with smart cities and bullet trains will have broadband access for all.

Btw Tito I personally really liked your ideas for digging SA out of the trash can but that bitchslap you received from the unions appeared to knock your teeth out.

Like China and North Korea. Great idea.
With a great firewall and limited to anc propaganda, and an AI surveillance that gives you social credit.

No, meant using the sabc infrastructure and money to provide wifi hotspots instead of crappy TV. People will still use ISPs because like everything else, The govt provided service will suck and be unreliable.
Maybe kids can then be able to watch youtube tutorials made by teachers and people who know how to do basic math.
Sacb can pull a t-series on themselves and broadcast their crappy content on youtube as well.

That's not really what it means.

As Government, we are doing everything in our power to prevent the spread of Internet access.

Literally, they control access to spectrum and public servitudes, enforce stupid quota nonsense and tenders and go out of their way to debate things to death and not implement anything that can increase broadband availability.

It sickens me when ANC ministers talk.

To date not one has done something for the POOR yet they all speak with the same Voice using the poor to glorify themselves.

Just ask them what have they done ?
