So last night the SO makes a salad using raw brocolli, cauliflower etc etc. Was delicious

Now I've been enjoying brocolli for a few years since he introduced me to it (Brocolli is non-existant in Indian kitchens) - but this was really really good.

So howcome so many folks hate brocolli? It's bloody nice!!! :D

It's okay raw, but can be (and generally is) cooked to mushiness at which point it's really unpleasant.

Raw brocolli and cauliflower salad is bloody fantastic ... especially if you bang in some crispy bacon bits and some well matured cheddar

Fussy eaters miss out on so much gastronomic pleasure

I like to cook my veggies so that they're still a little bit crisp, but not too soft.

But too much broccoli... beware :D

1. How about in a veg curry?

2. One of the problems with broccoli, is the smell. Not good !

Adding bacon and cheese takes away the 'healthy' attributes of a salad.

I love broccolli, only uncooked... i hate it when its cooked... makes me sick...

Actually most vegetables i prefer uncooked rather than cooked...

Never liked brocolli as a child, love the stuff now covered in a rich cheese sauce :)

Mmm... I love broccoli :3 Has to be cooked though to the point of still being crunchy, but soft. Aromat, nutmeg... Mmmm is all good :D

My missus makes a killer broccoli soup! It's really quick and easy too.
You fry yourself some bacon and chop it up relatively fine.
Then you dice up some broccoli, really fine.
Bring some milk to the boil, and add some corn starch just to thicken it up a bit. Add broccoli and stir in thoroughly. Also add salt and pepper at this point.
Then crumble in a generous amount of feta(to taste, of course) and add the bacon.
Serve.
Garnish with crumbled feta on top and keep the pepper grinder handy as it adds awesome flavour.
The entire thing should take you around 15min to make and it's absolutely fantastic!

Brocolli is very heathly and cheese souce is not. So the 2 cancel each other out. That way you get no nutrition.
I tought myself this.
