Budget friendly way to keep tv and dstv on?

Any good ideas on a budget friendly way to keep dstv and tv on during loadshedding without too much fuss?
Something that wont be disturbed by power surges etc? or blow the tvs?
generator is rather loud - something quieter and relatively cheap?

I've seen a lot of these posts about people looking for ways to power their TV during loadshedding and usually held my tongue (fingers) but I just can't anymore...Can you guys seriously not go a couple of hours with the TV off? :wtf:

Not that I can't. I travel a lot, and its more about making these things as comfortable for the family while I'm gone.
So tv isnt my worry, more that they can enjoy the comforts when they want to.

If it's only your TV/DSTV that you're concerned about, just get a small(ish) UPS, with a few batteries.

These Mecer inverters + batteries are very popular for this function, although perhaps not 100% perfectly suited.
