Sign up with GoogleWell, i found something interesting tonight, after a bit of panicking i might add. I had recompiled my kernel, etc.. and rebooted. And BAM. No keyboard or mouse? Grub loads fine but the second the ubuntu login screen comes up it all hits a wall. Thinking that i potentially crippled my system i get my arch disc and boot it,i get to the login prompt same thing no response from either input devices 
i boot into windows and its fine.. do some research and nothing helps.
I then notice that my power cable is slightly out of the laptop.. i boot back into linux pull out the power cable it all comes back to life..not sure if anyone has ever had this or knows the cause, very odd indeed.
