Every single time I do an online order with Builders they default to some other random shop a million miles away and then I get a massive shipping quote.

Problem is you need to clear your cart and change the shop and start all over again so it can be very annoying.

To date they've also not managed to get a single order completely right and then there is zero support and I end up physically going to the shop which is equally painful.

I'm still sitting with a bunch of aerators that were wrong and it's more effort to go exchange than to just write the money off.

Easy. Just don't use the company.

But on the other hand, all private companies in South Africa is busy collapsing. I do not think there is a single company left that knows how to do business. They employ the most terrible, uneducated and unqualified staff, from the bottom right through to the top. From cleaners, customer services, IT right through to management and CEO's. This include everything from hospitals, banks. insurance, private schools, online schools, financial - any sector - you mention it.

Crazy stuff happening here in SA. One should probably lower your expectations and accept a lifestyle like this 3rd world s**t.
Your always so insightful. We appreciate you here.

So it is a bug...because the programming is **** but it's not a failure so we'll just ignore it.

A simple limitation on distance filter would sort this right out.

And that is collapsing fast too... unfortunately.

You know your country is f**ked in the private sector when you need to approach ICASA ombudsman to force a courier to deliver a parcel after 2 weeks. Or approach the financial sector ombudsman to force a trading company to verify your banking details after you sent them your bank statements, as they requested, and they still do not know what to do. Or, you cannot bank, because IT systems have continuous glitches. Cannot get admitted to a hospital because systems are down between hospital and medical aid. Or cannot access a school system because of glitches. Or queue hours on end in two private banks just to be sent out when loadshedding strikes. Crazy stuff happening in the private sector in SA.

F**k, at least give me a chance to try and acclimatize to the 3rd world first.... just maybe I can lower my expectations just enough that this could become the new normal for me too.

Whatever duda... just because it did not happen to you does not mean it is not happening to anyone else.

Oh I’m sure it’s happened, but not at nearly the amplified level you make it out to be or all at once.

And definitely no more than before.

**** does happen…everywhere.

Family owned businesses seem to have the best customer service. Same as hirschs. They tend to pay low end staff well too.
I know a couple of people that worked and Hirchs. Would definitely not agree with them paying well or treating their staff well.

I feel sorry for people that don't have a Chamberlains near them and have to shop at Builders.

Ironically I used to go to Brights because it was a smaller business who seemed to stock less but more discerning products for better pricing.

Sadly since they’ve grown and setup nee larger premises it seems scaling the business has been its downfall as they’ve simply gone to **** making me opt for Builders and the big corporate instead.
