Builder's Warehouse are cnuts... always have been...
Its an old trick. Last year I needed cordless screwdriver bits... did a Google search they were R79.99 each for a set of Bosch. I went there.. marked I kid you not, R179.99. I showed them on my phone the actual price and that's when the lip began to drag on the floor like a spoilt teenager... eventually I got the manager called, a thick skinned clutchplate... I told him its R79.99 and eventually he gave in cause he could see I wanted to give him a smackPathetic being the operative word here..
I was looking for app controlled fairy lights for a burning boy party last weekend, as you do, so during my hasty search on Friday cos takelot didn't next day deliver either, saw Builders asking R898 for a Bneta product that was half that price elsewhere & even at Bneta.co.za themselves.
No sweat, got it elsewhere and music controlled figure stick light man was a hit at the party, but on Monday this tickled me again so I went to fetch my box to make sure it's the same product. Yep exact same, so I popped off a quick 'contact us' and in my best Karen asked how on gods green earth do they justify such a markup?
So got a call today, eh no the buyer says the merchant had given them the wrong price to load. Really? Jesus what an Eskom level excuse.
So I asked Doris when do they plan to adjust the price since it's still 898 on their website and hey had 70 more in stock at just Centurion? So she started telling me no if people wanted a refund they must apply at the store where they bought if from.
I just put the phone down while she was still vomiting her litany, shame man maybe they need the money as badly as that president who earned R3mil a year but still stole..
