Building a NAS....

If I have the power I will most definitely have some proper servers....will check out the i3-14100 also, ,thanks.

Currently I have an hp gen8 for NAS and an HP PRODESK G6 for dockers /vms I (will be selling it soon though...watch this space ;-).
Plan is to upgrade to 1 device and get a little more CPU power.

Some questions regarding a power supply.....what is the recommended Watts for a set up like mine?
I think 450 should be enough but maybe a 650 just in case....I think it must be and SFX and something I just thought about, I should probably get a white one.

Given that you're only running 2 HDDs and 1 NVME... I'd say that 450W gives you a crap ton of headroom in all honesty.

you're at about 50W for the 2 HDDs at most, which would leave you 400W for just the system itself.

Will be running more hard drives.
I still need to see, but it'll probably be 4 hard drives, 2 ssds, and 3 NVME's.

Even at those sorts of numbers, I'd reckon the 450w is more than enough.

I completed the build , however the server is flashing red.
I didn't connect the onboard front panel usb's, can that be the reason?
All fans are working fine.

Here's another option.

So been thinking maybe I should add a low profile GPU and have a small gaming VM....
any recommendations ?

Here's another option.

These are cool. I may grab one of the discounted one's in the US.

Specifically around a PFSense/OpenSense firewall.
