Some whatsapper. Was hoping. He was informing all concerned.
I added the link above - the interesting bit reads...

The decision was driven by the opportunity for BURGER KING® South Africa to serve the consumer demand for non-Halaal products. We haveonly converted restaurants in areas, where a Halaal restaurant is already located nearby, to as far as possible, conveniently serve both consumers.

...
  • Due to guest demand, in 2016, BURGER KING® SA conducted an extensiveresearch project to quantify the guest demand for a non-Halaal product.
So yeah, I'm thinking bacon too.

I can count a McD on every corner, a Burger King there are only three I know of within a 12km radius. Perhaps it's due to that there isn't profit? Also McD has had the Big Mac at R39.90 for over two years, perhaps the whooper should be the same?
or add bacon.

Wasn't the only Halaal option there because the franchise owner had religious reasons for going that way? Have those reasons evaporated or has he sold the franchise group?
