Hi Forumites. Anybody in burgundy know when we are scheduled for load shedding? It started lastnight and we go down with zone 15, which is not even close to where we are. And anybody know why it started?

Yeah that was screwed up. We never get load shedding, and all of a sudden without warning it's lights-out. How did you establish we are with Zone 15? If that is the case, I assume we can follow Zone 15's schedule to know when Burgundy will be affected. A heads up would be nice next time.

It was such a shock to have the power go out last night, I was actually confused by what happened! I even thought of selling my UPS last week as it was useless until last night! :wtf:

It would be nice if we can get a schedule which actually shows Burgundy Estate's load shedding times. Just as an update also, my flatmate said the power was off again sometime today as his PC was off, which it never is.

I checked on the Grid Watch app - Milnerton area was out at same time. I suppose we fall under Milnerton?
Hope its not gonna be regularly now :(

On Gridwatch I checked Richwood 2, looks like that might be where we at. Anyways, just a heads-up, looks like we might go down again at 6pm - 8:30pm.

Power still down, should have been back online half an hour ago. The City of Cape Town operators are fuggen retards. Eskom agent trying to sort it out.

I just phoned eskom. They said they aren't aware of any problems and logged a fault. Turnaround time is 2 to 6 hours. Reference number i got: 144204821

I phoned City Power first. They claimed I must phone Eksdom. Then they in turn told me to phone City Power, at which stage they decided to take the night off. At least the eskom operator could speak english though. Fk i hate this 3rd world craphouse service we get in SA.

Finally after nearly 4 hours. Had to eat cold food. Gotta go doomsday prep tomorrow it seems with some UPS's and extra candles, gas heater and gas hob. Wish I could send Eksdom the bill.

Yeah it's ****. We going to have to get used to all of this. Also we definitely go off for longer than other areas in western cape. Most are just over 2hrs. Our 2 experiences have been over 150 minutes.

Reason I say zone 15 is because we went off the same time as them in stage 1 and again in stage 2.

Also heard about searching on eskom for richwood 2 which seems to be the same times zone 15 goes Down.

Well I just don't know now. If we were on any of the zones I looked at there was suppose to be more load shedding for us and it never happened.
So just what the hell is going on.

So far it seems to match Richwood 2. Are you talking about load shedding today? According to Richwood 2 schedule, Burgundy would have been load shed 10-12:30 on Stage 1, but currently there is no loadshedding taking place.

That is what I would also like to know and a clear schedule would be nice also. I can understand if Burgundy runs off the same grid as Richwood, but that won't explain why the electricity only started going off last week after months of load shedding..

Same story here in Bothasig. We do fall under Eskom (Eskom bills and everything), but they never load schedule according to their schedules.

Please let me know if the power goes off or stays on tonight. I'm at work and there's no point going home if the power is out.

Last nights' load shedding coincided with Richwood 2. Thanks Effjh for providing the schedule and at least we can now plan accordingly..
