A touring group of mostly school children from South Africa reportedly cowered under their bus seats after the coach carrying them to Old Trafford to watch Manchester United take on Liverpool in a Premier League match, came under attack by protesters.

The Guardian reported that the bus was pelted with objects on Monday as it drove through a group which had gathered to protest against the Glazer family, which owns beleaguered United.

Bus driver and company owner Adam Bradshaw told the publication that bottles and cans were hurled at the vehicle outside the Tollgate pub as he drove the youngsters, dressed in their supporters’ gear. to the match.

Pretty common occurrence at football matches in the UK when you go to an away match on a supporters bus. I've been on a few that have had windows smashed in.

All I saw was some samaritans throwing bottles of water at african kids. They knew africa has no water & food. And this is the thanks they get.

Yet take those "hardcore" football fans and drop them into Durban central. Wouldn't last 10 minutes without crying for help and wetting themselves. South Africa is not for pansies.

The places I used to travel to work and back everyday, trains, walking through Warwick Junction, right down along Anton Lembede. Then back again every day. These "hard men" would **** themselves. But we Saffers do this every day without blinking.

Edit: There gangsters are everywhere right there in Town, all around you. Hard assed mofo's and itching for a robbery. You see all the school kids walking around after coming off of the trains. Some small kids like 8 years old walking through this. No fear. It's what we do on this tough continent.

Agreed. We have moved beyond this sort of behaviour.

The UK are decades behind us and falling further behind each day.

At this rate they won't evolve to the "burning tyres in the street" level of development we're living through for at least another 50 years.
Brexit brain drain!

Well, you haven't experienced it nor know anyone who did in the UK either. You only read about it.
Unlike the gentleman I was responding to, I did not make a general statement about this being common in South Africa. It's not.
