Morning gents. Need a favour for a friend...

What kind of 2 factor do each of the big 4 banks have in place for SME biz accounts? Specifically physical devices?

Also, which ones all read only access?

Background: Friend is sitting on a fair pile of coin & bank is being difficult. Don't know which one....FNB I think.

Thanks

Company I work for uses FNB business banking.
No device.
Certificate authentication to authorise payments/transfers/change settings etc.

What issue is your friend having?

Basically I told him he needs to get away from the whole SMS auth story in light of well the obv.

But bank is being uncooperative to what I would think is a fairly simple request: Biz account, lots of money so proper 2 factor.

Also they had some ka.k story about the banking app not working for biz accounts unless you also register a personal account.

Whole thing smells of BS. But wanted to hear what's par for the course on this before tell him to throw a tantrum.

If they can't do hardware device then at least 2 factor on a cell app?

@Cert auth - I'd rather not go there to be honest. Don't think the IT skillset is there. (They're good at what they do...but IT not so much). I suspect certs are more big biz anyway?

The banks this side seem to be moving to this:
