Anyone trying "$100 Startup" & "4-Hour Work Week" and creating their "micro-business" and "muse"?

Hows it going for you?

Are you relying heavy on online marketing like they do or using both online and offline marketing?

I am trying to get launch and faced with question on whether product is good enough or presentation is good enough. Perhaps we can have a look at each others ideas and give concrete feedback?

Uhm..thanks for the replies guys, I guess.

I can understand how you guys can feel about that. 4 hour work week is pretty out there and has been accused of many things.

$100 startup is however a more solid book with great examples I already have seen working in SA. Rentmaster which I found in other posts is a good example of a great micro business with a great offer.

Remember not everyone perhaps had the same education, up bringing or experience the two of you had, so perhaps you created your businesses without getting advice from anyone and just getting it.

So my questions remains: anyone out there also checking out one of these books and trying to create a valuable business? Just wanted to find out how its going with you and swap stories.

I read the 4 hour work week a few years ago and found it quite inspirational in the "once your business is up and running allow your employees to run it for you" kind of way. The advice is basically get involved in a small way once in a while but ultimately only do the basics to keep the business running smoothly. Personally I found there was no solid upstart advice, it's more just a book on how to let go.

Haven't read the $100 startup but i did start my own online business a few years ago which brings in a very small amount of money each month.
