Durban - A Bergville cement company has threatened to pull out of the small KwaZulu-Natal town after equipment worth millions of rand was allegedly set alight by a local business forum on Monday.
BergMix, a supplier of ready-mix concrete, is considering pulling out of this northern Drakensberg gateway after trucks, a bakkie and their control room were set on fire.

BergMix director Douglas Porrill said he was alerted by security guards at 2am and was informed that three trucks, a bakkie and their offices were in flames.

“The lead-up to this is that we’d been approached by a few guys calling themselves the Bergville Business Forum, demanding to take over 30% of our business and trying to insert themselves into our business,” he said.

He said they met the business forum in August, when they made their demands.

Yeah, because "Mafia" is an African term and the "civilised" countries in Europe or North America have never experienced anything like organised crime...:X3:
You are quite right there. Most countries in Europe and North America do exactly the same thing as these criminals. And it is highly organised, so much so that you even have supposedly intellectual people defending the theft of other people's business.

The worldwide average statutory corporate income tax rate, measured across 208 jurisdictions, is 23.03 percent. When weighted by GDP, the average statutory rate is 26.47 percent.

Well, those Europe or North American countries were (still are?) not civilized until they severely nipped it in the butt, here it is just growing and growing and becoming bigger every day.

Eish, you can call it what you like, they're arsonists and very likely thieves as well.

I suppose you are right, government is totally different from this. They will just throw you in prison, then auction off all your assets.

Its quite funny how you come out and defend criminals using a statement but it happens in x country in the world so its fine.

11 year old children still uses the technique you need to grow up ...

How have I defended criminals? I am simply questioning the intelligence of those who think that the actions of these criminals is any different than what governments inflict on their citizens.
