Paul Bailey is believed to be the first British car enthusiast to own a McLaren P1, a Ferrari LaFerrari and a Porsche 918 Spyder

A wealthy car enthusiast drove his £866,000 McLaren supercar to the garage to pick up his new £1.2m Ferrari - which he then drove to collect his new £780,000 Porsche.

Businessman Paul Bailey has beaten the world's wealthiest car collectors to become the first person to own the £3million "Holy Trinity" of hypercars. His Saturday started when he got behind the wheel of his McLaren P1 and drove 35 miles from his home to a Ferrari dealership in Nottingham. He then handed the keys to his P1 to wife Selena and jumped inside his brand new £1.2 million Ferrari LaFerrari, which he ordered two years ago.
They then drove 100 miles in convoy to a Porsche dealership in Cambridge, where he collected his new 918 Spyder.

It is thought Mr Bailey, from Rutland, is the first person to get their hands on all three of the world's most sought-after hypercars. The three machines, which have only been seen together previously in car magazines, boast a combined 2,740bhp - the equivalent of 45 entry-level Ford Fiestas.

All three are capable of 0-62mph in less than three seconds and a top speed of more than 200mph.
They they are part of a new breed of ultra-performance motors which use hybrid technology to achieve fuel economy of up to 94mpg. Multi-millionaire Mr Bailey, who sold his telephone conferencing business for £28million in 2012, described his fleet of performance motors as "totally amazing". He said: "I have been waiting, in real terms, about two years for the LaFerrari. Early images of these cars were snapped and emotions rose as delivery dates came closer.
"I was offered one of the first five UK cars but these did not have the level of personalisation that I have had.
"This is the first UK car with full personalisation and it was worth the wait "I live a very surreal life and being the first to own all three does not feel real. This is why I want to use and share the cars with enthusiasts.
"It is too early to say which is the best as they are all totally amazing. I will be able to better comment when I have driven them back to back on the race track." All three of the limited edition hybrid hypercars have now sold out with deliveries currently taking place around the world.

The McLaren is the rarest, with 375 built. Ferrari is manufacturing 499 LaFerraris and Porsche has sold all 918 of its 918s. Mr Bailey will be offering rides in the cars to a select few at Silverstone through Supercar Driver, a club he is a member of. He has already raised thousands for charity by raffling off £1 tickets for people to win a go in his P1.
Adam Thorby, founder of Supercar Driver, said: "Paul has got a cracking collection of cars and I think he is the first person to own all three of these. "A lot of people who buys cars like this will have them hidden away but Paul is going to be driving them."At Supercar Driver we do a lot of events and he will be taking the cars along and letting people have rides in them. "I think he has raised around £20,000 for charity since he got his P1 by raffling off rides in them."

I hate this person so much :p

Nope! Watch episode 5

Seen it, hence my remark. I don't think this was the person they had in mind as they didn't mention one person being a source for all three.

Regardless though, why does Ferrari have to ever find out who loaned the car?

On another note, May's comment on the acceleration had me in stitches :D God's holy trousers :D

By the time they release another one of a kind Ferrari, he will most likely be dead.

Highly unlikely, 288GTO 1984, F40 1987, F50 1995, F60/Enzo 2002, LaFerrari 2014.

Longest gap is 12 years...

Doen't look too old either, some snooping and there's a pic of him on his Instagram page @Horsepower_racing, can't post here cos Instagram is retarded

I can't believe it, but I ended up watching that whole 20 minute video ... and loved every bit of it (even if the guy himself is a bit tiring). There is a special treat at the end of the videos: the sight of the 918's exhausts steaming on the cold morning. Omw, car love!!!!!

Here's an interesting factoid:
Paul Bailey, 55, and 49-year-old wife Selena, pictured in their new LaFerrari, made £28million when they sold their telecommunications business in 2012

That's a serious amount of money to spend, 28 million quid or not. If he keeps spending it at this rate, he'll be on the streets in five years.

So... he should invest it all? Comeon.... Let the guy spend his money. He worked for it... I'd probably only invest half of it and spend the other half on gadgets, yatch, cars, etc....
