I agree, I only restore cars that are in good condition.

Bad condition cars I will buy and strip as donor cars. Unless the OP has experience restoring cars he is set to throw a lot of money down a black hole.

You scaring me now

You don't have to listen to me, we can revisit this thread in four years and evaluate how far you got with your project.

I bought my 1968 Wolseley with 36 000 miles on the clock, in immaculate condition, and the restoration has cost me somewhere in the region of 75k - I am actually too scared to add up the bills!!

By the time you dig in to the car, replace hydraulics, re-do carpets, replace tyres and then respray, you are into a galloping bill! :)

I've got this crazy idea to restore a citroen ds23 from 1973, thing is a pukka job would probably cost R200-300k.

This is something else i would like to get my hands on,

You need time, a great workshop and lot's of patience. If you have these 3 already, then all you need is money, otherwise just look at pictures of other peoples cars!

I am busy restoring a 1977 Lamborghini Urraco, P300 3Ltr V8

There are several original parts that I am having difficulty sourcing-
1. Headlight linkages for the pop up lights
2. Short pile 100% cotton Automotive carpeting
3. Period Autovox radio

If any one can assist, it would be greatly appreciated.
You can follow my progress with the restoration at: http://dfsa.activeboard.com/t60334383/lamborghini-uracco-1977-p300-3ltr-v8/

As long as you do no intend to use this as a daily runner.

Classics are mostly weekend runners.

DFSA start your own thread. No one will dig through this thread to find your, off topic post.

A friend bought a Mercedes W123 280E Auto a couple of years ago.

He completely rebuilt the engine (all by himself) imported a 5 speed manual gearbox, fixed some of the body work, redid the interior, etc.

Before he knew it, he spent R120k. Can't remember if that included the cost of the car.
