Hi

My connection has gone to pot and I just got refreshed my CellC with a 20gb sim. Went through the call center and they say I am not in coverage area which is odd, cause if I look on the map I am and the connection was ok before. (Hillcrest,Kzn), so in fairness maybe I am on the boundary of what is considered good.

My question is will one of the window mounted antenna's improve my situation and can I get one in Durban somewhere today as a last ditch effort.
Along these lines maybe?

My signal sits around 67-71 dbm (see mdma img)

Its great some days, can game as well (BF3) but more often not unless in the wee hours of the morning.Just over the last 2 weeks or so it went south badly to a point where I could not browse even for extended periods.
I went into Telkom shop today but when the lady mentioned 8ta 10gb and contract in the same sentence I almost vomited on her desk, and walked out.

Nope, havent, I run it normally through a TP-LINK TL-MR3420 router to my desktop and then wireless network for the rest of the kaya.
I have walked around the house outside the house with the black speedstick in my laptop and the signal is pretty consistent.

Also, when the connection (throughput and latency) is properly good, I see no real change in mdma on dbm. Same tower as well it seems.

Other thing you might try is use MDMA to lock it to UMTS 2100 for a try.See if you have signal on that.
I'm down north beach with strong signal on UMTS 900 but i get better performance from a weaker UMTS 2100 cell.

Yeah I tried that with the new mdma Tun, however it will not connect to 2100.

edit:
Does anyone know the exact location of the CellC towers that service Hillcrest, or where I can find that info.

laptop/eyes car & MDMA lower than 60dBm your getting warm;)
By the way there's a poynting branch just down in Pinetown but it sounds more like overloaded cell than signal problem.
