Since the car would be 5 years old by the end of this year would it be a bad buy?
It has 32,000Km on the clock and is neat.
extended service plans are available. Price R849 000
What are you guys opinions. It would be either this car or a Mercedes-Benz A45 4Matic.
Thanks!

Ask yourself one question:

Will you have passengers?

Mate of mine has a GT R and there is NO ROOM for passengers in the back unless they are like 12 or something.
So if you're going to have passengers like kids or friends, rather go for the Merc. If not, get the GT R. They are farking amazing.

the other assumption was that this would not be his primary car, performance cars generally are toys

ok so a fast hatch back that is so over priced Clarkson did not want to review it at all?

or the one CAR that you can race a super bike with on pull away.

I don't understand how is this a question.

there is a guy in the building of my current office that owns the AMG, his friend owns the Subaru BFR. the other day they did a bit of show off the stuff move, parked next to one another in the little side street we are in, was about 7pm on a weeknight in sandton. they pulled away like Douche bags and guess who was left in the dust? the AMG, not by much, but think about the price difference between the BFR and the AMG....

personally I would buy neither, you are going to be stuck in traffic in both. get a bike.

Never seen a BFR only BRZ

@OP I would go GTR all day everyday

my bad. you are correct. the Toyota + subaru mix car, you all know what I mean damit
lol i thought they made a new car i didn't know about

With that said, I doubt the other guy in the AMG had a A45 probably just the AMG Kit on a normal A class

Otherwise the 45 would of killed it @ 265KW vs 154KW of the BRZ

Unless ofcourse the BRZ was modded

You will have to spend close to R60 000 on a BRZ to get it up to spec with the A45... standard form a BRZ goes no where slowly, still very nice cars though.

ferrari has a 7year plan ...

OP yeah what are you looking for cause thats 2 different leagues of cars

a45 is with the GTIs and hot hatches

GTR is with the M3's, 63 AMGS's and porsches league

i would go for a porsche or a C63 given the money

@OP

Have you considered a 1991 COTY edition Opel Mona 1.6GSi?

I know the outlay is more expensive initially, but just remember that it can literally drive from jhb to CT and back, with the aircon on.

Doubt it, I have an 86 and the A45 would cream me. That dude obviously did something wrong...

Yours is stock apart from the exhaust though, right? Though to be fair the A45 should also easily cream a Supercharged GT86.

U ****ing wot m8? R U havin a giggle ther?

Anyway it all depends on your wallet. Get the GTR if you can afford to run the thing (that includes fuel, maintenance and insurance), get the A45 if you can't.

I'd take the A45 because of the significantly better cabin - if I'm going to be driving this car as a daily, I want to be comfortable.

That being said...I would then return the A45 and buy a proper car :)
