It might be the most affordable new electric vehicle, but it's not affordable for a hatchback..
Honestly, it's not that bad when you consider the fuel savings if you have the ability to charge at home and bonus if you already have solar.

It's a much better deal than any current hybrid models, the Honda Fit hybrid is more expensive and that still needs petrol!

If the trend continues with lower priced EVs coming to our market my next car will probably be an EV.

Yes. But prices are trending down. You now only have to be rich instead of stinking rich for this to become a practical choice. :)

Yeah, there are benefits. But... I couldn't live with myself if I paid import prices for a car like this. Just the way it is. Regardless of how much I want an EV. Without our EV import madness tacked on - This is about R260k.

It'd be like buying a regular hatchback, at regular hatchback value, and then just handing over the equivalent amount of the price to the government, pasella. Just because they like being cnuts. They wouldn't even need to pay interest on their loot. I'd be the one choking on that as well. Madness. I wouldn't be able to stand it.

The Ford Kuga is ****ed.
hardly, more likely the ground will turn to glass from the heat,
like at the Ground zero of a Nuclear blast.

also EV's made in China, what happens when the wheel flies off at 120 KM/H, because the Chinese worker didn't fasten the bolt attaching it to the car properly.

Well, having experienced this exact thing before, I can tell you nothing much.. the car just falls on to the ground grinding the disc/axle/hub until you come to a stop..

Then you sit there for a few minutes in your now brown pants and then get out and go find your wheel somewhere a km or so away..
