Cable damage affecting Gauteng

Telkom have some cable damage and this is affecting areas of the 3G network in the South of Gauteng, Midrand and some other areas.

Sounds like the break is over 300 meters.

here is in bedfordview there is no way im gona get 3G today, only GPRS. any clue when this will be solved @ v3g?

pls let us know ASAP as i need 3G for my work because GPRS is way too slow and EDGE...never experienced it...

everything fine now, thou a bit unstable, 1 bar only now, usually is 3 bars signal

There is a cable ripped up on the Olifantsfontein side of the access road leading to VodaWorld.

4Telkom bakkies and a backhoe can only spell trouble.

It all came back up late last night.

What you probably saw was reduced connectivity due to some towers being out. Attempting to connect to the available towers (if any) will give a sub-standard experience, such as 619's, as everyone connects to the available portion of the network.

yikes, i see a cable break at the end of the month between my bank account and vodacom, sorry but the debit order could not get thru. ....:) :) :D

i still didnt phone 155, must i phone them first or can i just solve it through you?

Always better to log with 155 as they will then have all your details.

But drop me a PM with all the location details, etc. and I'll log it for you. We can also chase up where your other calls are.

spoke to 155 guys and they told me they've been upgrading the towers and when i asked them when the process would be concluded they told me they sent a message to the network team which will contact me in 24hrs
so im waiting...
@v3g if you can give me a clue on whats going on i'd be thankful
