Good day everyone,

I always took the time to read the threads and posts, never really needed to post any responses due to others.

This is the time I need some insight of others from my own experience.

I am sure this problem is not unique although I would like to hear others opinions on my specific dilemma.

Due to cable theft, I have no telephone nor ADSL for over a month now. This is the first instance of cable theft that I have noted and we have been informed that due to the high cost of repairing the cable, we are going WIRELESS.

I should be excited, no more down time and I will finally have internet access again.

I checked the Telkom coverage map only to find that the best signal I have is Telkom Mobile's 2G.

I HAD ADSL since March 2005 with a 4mbps adsl line and a 3gb Telkom cap. I moved to Mweb as my service provider from the time Mweb launched their uncapped data plans. My average usage sits between 20-30gb per month primarily from online gaming and youtube streaming on my PS3.

What happens now? Is there anyone else who was moved to Telkom wireless and lost their ADSL?

Will I now have to cut down my usage because there is no Telkom uncapped wireless solution?

How is the 2G speed? Can I still game online and stream Youtube?

I have contacted Bitco for a uncapped wireless solution and there is no coverage in my area.

I will appreciate any advise.

You can still download 20 - 30 GB. It's just going to take a bit longer...

A bit longer? At 2G speeds after 4mbps ADSL you'll be use a calendar, not a stopwatch, to measure download times. :)
