Ten children rescued from a California home had allegedly been waterboarded, shot at with crossbows and strangled by their parents, authorities say.

In a court filing, prosecutors recommended that bail for the mother be raised to $495,000 (£365,000) because she remains a danger to her children.

Police arrested Ina Rogers and Jonathan Allen in March after responding to reports of a missing child.

The pair now face numerous charges of child abuse dating back several years.

The motion, filed on Wednesday, says the children were "punched, strangled, bitten, shot with weapons such as crossbows and [pellet] guns, hit with weapons such as sticks and bats, subjected to 'waterboarding' and [had] scalding water poured on them".

Always amazed me about these abuse cases, if you hate kids so much why have so many in the first place!
Welfare benefits no doubt...
It has nothing to do with hating kids and everything to do with psychological issues.

This is the same type of personality that would become a serial killer. They just found a more convenient outlet for their problem.

EDIT:
Wow that was crazy scary. The kids wearing the shirt "thing 1", "thing2", etc.

That is simply a pure manifestation of evil.

David, according to his parents, is a computer engineer who graduated from Virginia Tech.[6] In 1979, he graduated from Princeton High School in West Virginia. The school's 1979 yearbook listed him as the treasurer of the Bible Club, co-captain of the Chess Club, and a member of the Science Club and Acapella Choir.[7] Louise's occupation was listed in court documents as a homemaker.[8] The couple are adherents of the Quiverfull movement[9] and Pentecostalism.[6] According to David's parents, the couple kept having children because "God called on them" to do so.[6][8] The children's homeschooling involved memorizing the Bible, and a few tried to memorize it in its entirety.[8] David made about $140,000 per year at Northrop Grumman and had about $150,000 in assets.[8] The Turpins declared bankruptcy in 2011, owing debt between $100,000 and $500,000.[8]
Louise Turpin’s sister revealed on the Megyn Kelly Today show that the couple had experimented with different religions and with swinging.[30][31]

Can't pick your family which is deeply unfortunate for some unlucky souls

A man’s eyes were gouged out by his father and brothers after he expressed his desire to marry of his own free-will in Naseerabad area of Loralai district on Sunday. On information, police reached the scene and apprehended the father along with the brothers. The injured was rushed to Civil Hospital, Quetta for medical treatment, but due to the absence of an eye specialist, the injured was referred to the Helpers Eye Hospital.

However, the victim Abdul Baqi could not be immediately treated at the hospital as the eye specialist was not present there either.According to sources, Abdul Baqi was subjected to torture with his eyes being gouged out by his father and brothers over showing interest in marrying a girl, who belongs to the Duki area. “The man has lost both his eyes,” confirmed a police official of the area.

Detailing his ordeal, Abdul Baqi said, “They [father and brothers] locked my mother in another room and tied me up with a rope. Then they gouged my eyes out with a spoon and chopped them to pieces with a knife.”He further said, “I liked a girl from Duki. My father and brothers were not happy with my choice. They often used to tell me that they will never allow me to marry a girl who keeps chatting on the mobile phone with me. They told me that they were ‘mullas’ (religious men) and cannot bear such a relation.”
