Call of Duty - Black Ops 4 on PC in RSA

Hello

I finally got a decent PC last year and sold my PS4.

I'm planning on buying BO4, but some people have been telling me it will be dead on PC because everyone plays it on consoles.

Seems like bullshit, but I'd like a second opinion from those of you that have it already or have played previous modern COD games on PC.

Compared to previous versions of CoD on PC, I'd say that BO4 will have a longer livespan due to the fact that we have local servers for the game. For a major AAA title that has a BR game mode to have local servers in SA is huge. I forsee that the game will not die out on PC as quick as previous CoDs. CoD games on console have generally more players, but for the next year or 2, BO4 will definitely have a huge enough player base to sustain buying the game on PC.

Anyhow, that's just my opinion

To add to this and correct me if I'm wrong but the previous bunch of COD's have all been ports for PC but BO4 was made for PC not ported, on Twitter they even have a completely different account just for PC support.

BO4 afaik is cross platform (or will be early 2019). I swore never to buy another COD, but a buddy convinced me to get this one. Its bloody allright! On PC too...

BTW buy your copy from CD-Keys. Then prep the lube for a 60gb download

The key from CDKeys is more expensive than just buying it from Takealot and they sold a stolen key to someone on Carbonite, it took him 3 days to sort it out.

It was around R620 from CDKeys I think, if you used the voucher code they had on Facebook but for the price now I'd just buy it in store or from Takealot.

IF you buy from Cdkeys.com, just make sure you buy the MEA (Middle East and Africa) key. Initially bought the EU version (because in May they didn't have the MEA version) thinking it would activate. No dice. At least they are in the process of refunding me for the EU key, so no complaints

I see on a facebook xbox group the people are complaining that the Blackout mode is completely dead. No games you just get stuck in the pre launch area with like 10 or so players. As for normal multiplayer it has lots of players. Not sure about PS4 but I'm sure PS4 and PC will be the best platform to get it for in terms of players.

PS4 is good with players, sometimes a little bit of a wait for players to come in.

Got my hands on ps4 digital from Indonesia store with a discount coupon for R650. Now to do the download...

Just fired up 1 blackout match and was like 3min or so wait to fill up and game started.

I've noticed the only way to get a game of BO is to try start a game, it picks an SA server with like 2-6 guys in it ...wait for it to timeout after 5 mins or so and then the next round it searches an EU server which is always obviously full. Rinse and repeat.

Searched for this.

Got the game Friday and played this weekend. Was mostly a positive experience, had a few connection drops and still some lobby bugs. The big issue for me is I can only find local games when selecting BO Quads. Solo and Duos lobbys keep timing out.

I really thought local PC community would be more active Can't play fps on consoles to save my life so that's not an option for me.

The local BO games I managed to play though were excellent. You can really feel the extra care they put into the PC development.

@SirFooK'nG I wonder if they'll do cross platform though, specifically PC vs console. Apparently PC plays a bit differently in terms of how weapons feel and behave.

I ended up buying the game yesterday morning, played it all day.

Couldn't find any games on the Heist mode, but there were always domination/control and TDM/Kill Confirmed games available.

I tried a few Blackout games - Solo, Duo, Quads - no matter what I picked, I kept getting connected to EU servers.

When you got put into eu did it take a long time to search and were there lots of players in the lobby? My friend was never able to get into a lobby with enough players to start the match on za, so he wants to play on eu but it won't search eu for him.

Fortunately (or unfortunately for the local playerbase), you're not the only one having issues with Blackout. It's been nearly a week since the update broke matchmaking in SA (at least on PC).

Yeah, the local servers for Blackout mode is currently problematic. Couldn't find a match tonight at all. Technically bought the game just for Blackout as normal MP doesn't really do it for me any more. But alas, Treyarch is aware of the problem.
