I've played old COD titles many years ago,

I am thinking of pre-ordering this game on PC. But before I did I wanted to know if anyone could tell me if there will be SA servers, or how I could find out?

Chances are they will be working off the lobby system as the prior games worked. as for amount of players i have no idea what is going to happen i wouldnt preorder i would wait until release date to buy to check out the scene.

The game will apparently have dedicated servers, just not player controlled servers and neither will they be local. So to answer your question, no local servers.

Not saying it's 100% true, but apparently the dedicated servers run on a service called Vutlr (https://www.vultr.com/status/) which OBVIOUSLY wouldn't have a local presence in our country (no surprises there).

I suppose that if you still buy the game and can get local players together for local matches it should be lag free private match wise, but other than that, we're pretty much out of luck

I know there won't be servers locally or anything but the PC Beta is available to download on PC now so you can play it on the weekend, 15gb.

Lucky you. I saw "afrikaans" names last night, but I had the red 1x bar. Pretty unplayable. That was about 8pm last night.

Edit: That said, I am so glad we are back to the "old" games, where everyone play with their feet on the ground.

The game is in beta and people are already hacking.

Was going to pre-download the Beta, it's in my Steam library, but the 14GB download turned me off. By the time, I've downloaded it I'll only have a few hours to play.

Black Ops III's servers on the other hand are so empty a lot of the time.

I played a bit on Thursday night, team deathmatch seemed to be the only mode that paired me with locals. I really enjoyed war mode although getting that bridge built as allies requires proper team co-ordination, which sadly didn't seem to happen for me. But, no, ye, I like what I've played so far, might pick this cod up
