That comes with time, however 3 days was hardly enough time to help my wife. 9 months of carrying around a baby is exhausting, personally I would have loved some extra bonding time with the little one too.

What's the point of having a few days off to learn about changing nappies and making bottles and then going back to work where they won't be available to make use of their new skills Unless the new Father takes his newborn to work with him the onus of feeding and nappy changing will still lie with the Mother during the daytime

The extra time would allow the father to get to know his child, but mainly it would allow him to care for his wife.
