How much weight do you lose if you burn 200 calories a day for a whole week ?

Any way to calculate it ?
thanks

Remember it typically takes you as long to loose the weight you've gained as it took for you to gain it. If you want to loose 10kgs then the first 8 might go fast but the last 2 may take as long or longer than the first 8.

One pound of body weight is equivalent to 3500 calories. So in order to lose one pound of weight, we need to create a calorie-deficit of 3500 calories.

So to lose a Kilogram is about 20 hours on the treadmill? Sounds about right.

It's not that simple. You have not factored in diet. How does it help if you spend 20 hours on the treadmill but you go home and eat the wrong foods.

I agree with you but I hope I will do better as I've lost 8.4kg in 5 weeks so here's to hitting the 10kg mark in a week or 2 :D

your body sucks

seriously it does

its too efficient.

200 calorie deficit won't do squat and you won't see results immediately and will probably give up

calorie deficit diet + exersize and good quantities of water will yield nice results. probably about 3kg weight loss the first week which will even out to around 1-2kg per week depending how much exersize you get. The eating part also needs to be done at intervals. 3 squares is fine, but to boost your metabolism you need to eat 6 small meals during the day

Also, interval training. ****s you up, but has the added benefit of burning calories up to 24 hours after you've stopped exersize. However, then you need to do that for an extended period (as if running a marathon or cycling 70-120km)

heh, it's all about the diet. Cut out crap junkfood, sweets, fizzy drinks. Exercise twice a week.

I lost 6kgs in 4 weeks doing just that. My exercise included: 20min treadmill, 20min bike, 20min rowing machine.

After that I decided to compete in the surfers marathon, the dispatch 50km cycle race, the nahoon mile and this weekend a triathlon.

I'm tired of sitting in the office all day and seeing my health deteriorate.

What dieet + exercise are you doing? Losing 8-9kgs in 5 weeks sounds good to me.

Jip went to see a doctor and a dietician. If you want to lose real weight by just doing exercise you have to run the Comrades 3 times a week..

Calorie restriction and exercise is the way to do it...

By the way the dietician is a money making scheme you can find all the same answers online.:(

I joined a "weight loss" group at the gym on our work premises. It's for 9 weeks and there's 10 of us. We started off seeing a dietician and believe it or not, a hypnotist. The hypnotist gets you in the right frame of mind to start the program. We have weekly weigh-ins and group "hypno" sessions where the emphasis is on not feeling guilty if you've slipped.
Then there's gymming at least 4 times a week. When I started I was soooo unfit, still am to a point but I now do Aqua Aerobics, Yoga, cardio (treadmill, cycle & row), spinning and some step and weight classes during the week. I also work in some sessions where I work with weights etc.
Lastly, I cut out all sugar, sweets, chips and I try to follow the dietician's guidelines like low GI bread etc. We don't follow the diet strictly but we apply some of the recommendations and we try to make our portions smaller.
Seems to work for me so far... hold fumbs :D

1g fat = 9 (kilo)calories
so 200 calorie deficit a day will lose you roughly 22g of fat.
