Hi there.

I have a problem with a few devices, laptops and phones, that can’t reach the DHCP server yet if I set the IP address manually it works. There are other devices connected wirelessly that work fine.

Is there any solution for this?

Check your dhcp server config.

You have given zero information as to what your setup is.

DHCP server sitting on a different vlan from the client machines ?

More details needed on your current setup.

Is the wireless on a separate VLAN?
Are other wired devices getting DHCP and it is intermittent as to which ones dont?
this will tell you if the issue is with the entire wired network or not and narrow down troubleshooting.
You can debug the DHCP messages if your environment allows it to see whats happening

It’s a Mercusys MW305R router that handling the DHCP for about 100 clients.

No configuration has been made.

What would be ideal to solve this problem?
I assume that I would need to create a scope on the DHCP Server and configure VLANs for PC’s, Phones, access control, Wi-Fi and cameras, correct?

Do you have any access rights to set up a DHCP server or change DHCP server settings on the Mercusys ?
I would suggest doing a 'head count' on how many devices you are running on that poor router, and what subnet is allocated to it
Its probably a /24 with long lease times - you may want to change that or get a decent router / setup with split DHCP poolsfor WiFi and LAN

I can’t access the server but I can access the router.

We’re using a /23 mask.

We were in the process of changing the router and I set static addresses for each device.

Make sure DHCP snooping/enforcement is disabled on the access point/switch/whatever-device-is-not-playing-nice-between-your-client-and-server

Had a huawei once, hidden option in the GUI to not allow DHCP to pass through.
