Can i change my plan?

Hi All,

This is specifically directed to the TM Forum Rep.

I am currently on the old 8ta Smart Basic S Contract, with the iPhone 5 and the following inclusive:

250mb Inclusive Data
300bm Recurring Data
20 sms's
0 Minutes

And my subscription is approx R360.00 P.M

My question is...taking into account the fact that the Smart Basic S Contract no longer exists/no longer available, Could I migrate onto say... Smart Plan 100? As the inclusive minutes/data etc seems more attractive to me:


Inclusive all-net voice minutes: 100
Unlimited Telkom Mobile to Telkom Mobile calls (for the first 12 months)
Inclusive all-network Data: 150MB
Inclusive SMSs: 5 for 50 SMS promotion
Additional Data : 5GB Telkom Mobile Only

Your feedback would be appreciated..

Ok, so the TM rep got back to me via PM, saying that it is possible & it would basically be a downward migration & costs may be applicable. Was advised to take my docs & go to my closest TM store & request this...
So i decided to back this up by 1st calling the call centre & i was told the same..

So I did as i was advised..went to TM mobile in Canal Walk, spoke to an agent & he was basically clueless...
Said he didnt know if it was possible & didnt know how it works...
Advised me to...wait for it...to call the call centre and speak to someone there.
I told him I already did that...he couldnt assist me any further as his manager wasnt around.
He asked me to leave my number & email address & he would find out more.

That was yesterday afternoon at around 12pm & i havent heard back yet...and I think its safe to assume that I probably wont be hearing from the store anytime soon.

I've otherwise been happy with the service i've received from TM since porting from Vodacom...
But this is unacceptable...Either I was unlucky and was helped by an inexperienced agent...or TM's service offering are not communicated well enough to their stores.

So to the TM Rep... please assist
