Can I get fibre despite being a few meters out of coverage?

So I'm being forced to move from Adsl to fibre or Lte because Telkom refuse to repair faulty dsl lines, and Telkom lte coverage in my area is poor, and I just fall out of the radius for fibre.

When I say just out of the radius I mean a matter of meters, as the coverage appears to have stopped at the house opposite mine, and I've tried on many occasions to speak to Telkom and they say nothing can be done because I'm not in the radius.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The issue here is when you place an order, they plot the coordinates of the address and the plot will tell them what services are available for the plotting. What do you mean radius? Blocks away or houses away, street away?

Might it be possible to use an aerial cable across the street? A pole both sides? This has been done by Vumatel here in CT

Openserve won't allow that. Usually Aerial is behind the property and the few times it in front of the property there won't be a poll on the opposite side of the street so that plan won't work.

If it's trenched they might trench it to the next property if they don't have to go underneath paving ect but that might be a gamble too.

Houses away, literally the house opposite me has access to fibre and is in range, me being on the other side of the road isn't.

Make friends with your neighbour and go 50/50 with a good point to point wifi?

Across a road is difficult for wired stuff, theres probably a reason they dont want to dig it.

Openserve did the same here. Houses across from me had fibre active but not this side yet. 4 or 5 months later this side went active.

This is the best option available to you. get your neighbour to agree to use his address to "register" a service for you and then extend it across the street with a some or other radio connection.

BUT, keep the details to yourself and your neighbour, do not let the system know anything.

If its Openserve fibre then the best way to get it done is to make friends with some of their Techies and ask them to pull strings for you
