I have the owners permission to move the ONT/CPE thingy to the new location & then return it to owner.

Will it work?

Both on Frogfoot & just a road distance each other.

Try.
As a test my neighbour and I swapped our ONT's (Vumatel Aerial) to see if they would come alive and it worked. The PON light came on and he had the speeds I subscribed for and I his speeds.

I think the problem with doing that is administrative on the carrier-side. They have the ONT's number registered to a specific address and if you move it, it creates an admin issue for them.

Will generally need to change the LOID for the provider, and they may have provisioning for specific equipment. So probably no, unless you know what you're doing.

The ONT/CPE does not belong to the owner the unit remains the property of the cable provider. You mentioned Frogfoot. It's their's and remains their property.

Meaning it should stay at the address it was installed at.

It will be returned to the home, so I really don't see the issue.

Is the CPE/ONT covered for lighting damage or theft? Seeing that it is the property of the fibre provider?

What exactly are you trying to do here?

Also trying to figure that out here.

To move your ONT CPE do you mean re position it somewhere else in the unit. If that is so then do you have enough slack on the fibre leading into it, as its not a simple cut and join process if I remember correctly.

Looks like he wants to move it to another location streets away. That wont work if an install hasn't been done at the new location, in which case there will already be an ONT at the new location. It makes no sense.
