Can I run a 1440p display with a Intel 4600 Onboard Grfx?

I want to move from 24" 1080p to 27" 1440p, the system is a desktop with i7 4790 20GB DDR3 SSD Intel 4600 HD Grfx. I'd prefer not to have to get a dedicated grfx card as it's a Lenovo system with small power supply and weird connectors. I do zero gaming, it'll only be used for photo editing and some light video editing.

It will work, so long as you are connected over hdmi or display port..

Thanks, I will be using either hdmi or display port.
The big thing I'm worried about is if I will have any performance issues with running 1440p via the Intel 4600 Onboard Grfx. For my purposes outlined in the op do you guys think I won't have any issues?

In a similar vein I have seen people say to run a 4K display you have to a pretty decent dedicated grfx card, is that true or only if gaming?

I you feel you need a dedicated graphics card later, look at the GT 1030 max TDP is 35 Watt. No extra power cable is needed. The GT 1030 support HEVC 265 encoding.

Thanks that's a really helpful chart. How much do those typically sell for new or 2hnd?

Around R1.5k, second hand shouldn't reduce the price by that much as it's not a part that's often upgraded, probably around 1200.

Your integrated graphics should be fine.

I was lucky, got one on bidorbuy for R700 18 months ago. Still think R700 is a good price today. Just don't buy the ddr3 version (or pay less for it) the Gddr5 version is a good card.

This all before rand drop, which upped everything by 30% and we'll probably not see that reduced for a while even if fand recovers.

Second hand market is always nice.
