I can't seem to get connected to the internet on my Windows Vista HP laptop. I've recently subscribed to the Cell C data promotion and connect using the supplied Huawei E1820 dongle. All I can manage is a local connection only (limited connectivity).
I've scoured the internet for a solution but have found nothing. I've even tried this fix suggested on the MS Tech Forums http://http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233
Seems to be something to do with the DHCP broadcasting not working correctly.
The problem is not isolated to my Huawei dongle, I've also noticed it on wireless networks and when trying to connect through my Samsung phone. I've never been able to connect with the laptop.
Luckily I dual boot Ubuntu so I am still able to use up the data in the meantime. But there are things I need to do in Windows.
Does anyone have any insight?
