Can you check UTD stats remotely?

Is there a way to remotely check the UTD's stats like connection speed, transfer rates, errors etc?

i connect to iburst through an SMC Barricade wireless which has the UTD connected to its DSL port and dials up with it. I would like however to see what the data is like - lost of errors, re-transmit etc?

One thing about connecting it to a wireless router is that I can move it around and I think i've found a nice sweetspot upstairs in my house, LED's do not move at all - they remain on full 24x7. Speeds picked-up slightly too although i find P2P sucks but that could be their bandwidth manager trying to earn browny points with RIAA and Co.

my only gripe is that i still get disconnected about 2-3 times perday which really plays havoc on the dynamic DNS and my emails.

how would you do it though, the API is kinda closed on the utd and the iburst terminal doesn't dump anywhere, you could make an app to grab the text on the child windows in the app and do something with that data or try make a quick dirty vb app to try communicate with the usb and figure out what all that data represents.

There might be a way via ethernet, which I tried with unsuccessful results yesterday, deliberately cryptic - sworn to secrecy I am, will try again soon, confused you are...ag shame :D.

On that note, has anyone managed to use Ethernet & USB simultaneously? I know there was a thread on this before but I don't think anyone solved the mystery. This was also for the purpose of using a router but being able to get UTD stats at the same time.

the os running on the utd doesn't like ethernet & usb at the same time ...

IC, it works ... busy writing a tower detection application as we speak...

Still struggling to get FER data out of the unit though.

how do you make a tower detection app, because each tower has a code, just like cell towers have a code, how on earth are you going to get each towers ID to figure out which ID is which tower

Sounds Promising, only question that I have is will this work with the UTD sitting behind a router?

Well there are some codes on the LG spycam pic of the plasma screen [AFAIK] - will need to send in another spy & cam to get the other base-station codes...:D

wait wait, share the bounty i'm curious, when is the code transmitted and where is it stored, is it in the authentication packets when you sign on or is it constantly sent/stored throughout the session?

Takes a bit of fiddling but I'm trying to find a way around that...

On my linux router it works just fine ;-) ...with an additional config tweak here and there

HELLO IM RIGHT HERE AND ASKING A VALID FREAKING QUESTION, when is the code sent and how is it sent, where are you reading the value from, i want details dammit, also it can't be 18 ic, it would be a hex value wouldn't it and I assume you were using decimal there seeing as how you never said 0x18.

After programming with Symbian on cell phones I learnt thier IDs are 32bit integers (4 bytes) and can support 2 arrays of 32bit integers (8 bytes) so I would assume if there were an ID associated with the tower it would probably be a 4 byte value.

GIMME THE LOW DOWN PLEASE REGARD OR I'LL **** ON YUR LAWN
