I have a 1G (+1) databundle added to a MyChoice 75 contract. I just called 808 to find out if I can cancel this added data bundle and when it will take effect.
To my shock I found out that if I cancel right now, it takes effect immediately and that I would forfeit all the data that I have left on the bundle.
What I don't understand is the following. I paid for 2GB of data for a one month period running from 26th-26th. Why can I not cancel it with effect at the end of the month? That is called stealing.
I have been considering moving to Vodacom for some time, but this is the final straw. MTN, you lost me as a 3G customer for the following reasons.
1. When I used to live in PTA (where I signed up to MTN), I could only get EDGE. Vodacom had full HSDPA.
2. Where I live now (in Edenvale) both Vodacom and MTN has HSDPA, but VC wins 600kbps to 400kbps.
3. Where my parents live (also PTA), Vodacom has full HSDPA, MTN has EDGE. They get about 800kbps on VC there, while I get 50kbps if I'm lucky.
4. The MTNActive website is absolute crap compared to Vodacom4me. And it is extremely slow. On V4ME I can load databundles, which I can't on MTNActive.
5. Vodacom 2GB is R10 cheaper than MTN 2GB
.
But by no means do I expect VC to be the answer to all my problems. I've had my fair share of issues with them as well. But for now it seems like the better option.
My post would not be complete without at least mentioning that I believe the support for MTN on this forum is the best in the world, thanks to guys like MTN_DD and his fellows. Far better than VC's in my opinion.
Regards,
JJF.
