Cancellation of Cell C before it starts!

I called Cell C a couple of weeks ago as I was in the throes of cancelling all my MTN contracts. I requested a contract BUT only wanted it to commence on the 1st of December. THEN i aksed that my MTN number be ported to Cell C.

All good right?? NOPE!!

The contract started on the 14th of November while i am STILL paying for MTN so i am being billed for a contract i am not yet using. OK so it's a "couple of bucks" if you are a millionaire - right?

OK so we can try and live with that. So i called today to confirm that the number will be ported on the 1st of December. I get told that there is a R250 charge to port the number!! AH thanks for letting me know after the schlep of getting this contract etc.

RIGHT so i have no phone - i am using my own - and if i was told up front there was a fee I can say cool now we know BUT i was not notified of this. I haven't used the contract as yet

Now it is time to cancel the Cell C contract and go elsewhere - good going eh - 2 weeks on Cell C!!

What are the legalities wrt the consumer credit act? The contract started when it shouldn't have and now "hidden" or costs not disclosed.
