Cannot browse from pc via htc desire s wifi hotspot.

Hi, I'm on mtn and I'd like to connect to the internet from my pc, which will connect wirelessly to the
htc desire s(uses gingerbread).

Even though I can connect the two and the wifi icon is correct in the tray, I can't browse at all.
I pinged google, it said request timed out.
I tried an app called pdanet but it doesn't help, and I tried copying the mtnGPRS APN and setting that as the active
one but still no internet connection. I can browse through the phone though.

Any one know about this?

It's fixed, I had to reset the APN and MTN 3G is very fast, on my side that is.
