Hi Guys,

I have done a lot of reading but cant find a solution (or missed one) for my problem. I have bought a hisense 55" UHD TV and want to hook it up to a JVC TH-DN501 Home theater system ( https://www.hificorp.co.za/jvc-5-1-hdmi-h-theatre-th-dn501-1 ). I have plugged in the Optical audio cable but now i do not know how to proceed. There is no setting that i can find on the HT system where i can choose the option. How can i go about to get this connected? And what setting must my TV be on?

Regards

Not sure how many HDMI ports this "Home Theatre" JVC has but you should connect an HDMI cable to the JVC's hdmi output port and connect the other end into the TV's HDMI port where it states ARC (Audio Return Channel).

The JVC only has one HDMI output. I will go try that, but there is no setting that i can put the HT on? It only specifies, DVD/USB/FM ?

Looking at that home theater - that HDMI port will probably only be output.

I'd imagine you have to set it to DVD with the optical out connected, then somewhere on your TV's menu, set it to output sound over optical.
