Hi there...
Maybe it sounds stupid but the thing is that, i wasnt here in the country for 3 months...So when i came back and wanted to send an email through outlook express i couldnt...only i can send with WBS email...the other 3 emails which i have and working with i cannot use them at all...
So ive changed the settings like 3-4 times but still the same...it seams that wbs have blocked the POP3 and SMTP servers...
Please someone if you have some solution please reply to me how to fix this problem...

you can only use the wbs smtp server to send out now.

Change your settings for the other three or read up on the work arounds ... seem fiddly to me.

They haven't blocked the pop3 ... only the smtp

Screw thunderbird, you dont need to get anything, outlook works fine, just make shure you've entered the account name with the suffix @wbs.co.za.
Then set the smtp.wbs.co.za and pop3.wbs.co.za and restart outlook before trying to connect.
If that fails make shure that IBurst recognise youre account, fail the help desk and give them youre username to find out.
Good luck, bad things have been said about WBS service, yet they did help me with a similar issue.

hhm, hidden, I dont use the WBS smtp sever. but I have been experiencing problems with other smtp servers. I cant connect to mail.softhome.net, but gmail smtp works wonders. dont know why they decided to block certain smtp servers, but as long as i can use something else i am happy.

i don't use wbs so i may be wrong i'm pretty sure you can't have an "@" in an address name for an email server? shouldn't it be "*****.wbs.co.za"

WBS have blocked access to all SMTP servers outside of their network.
So if you try to connect to any SMTP server besides smtp.wbs.co.za it will fail.
Regardsless of what account you are using, the outgoing has to be set to smtp.wbs.co.za.
This is WBS's attempt at stopping spam.

unless your mail provider supports ssl connection (gmail) or you do the tunneling bypass.
Generally no providers support ssl and the tunneling seems like a huge mission.

actually they havent blocked all smtp servers they do have a list of exceptions and you can request your server be put on there. Alot of the time your mail host/web host/company/school will have a secure smtp port open, last i checked you can send to that just fine if you dont want to use wbs' servers, you can also use a proxy or SSH tunnel
