Canon 550D and 7D: Firmware update 25 November 2010

Canon have released a Firmware update v1.0.9 (minor bug fix) for the Canon 550D

Fixes a phenomenon in which tone jumps become noticeable in some images, depending on the shooting scene, when shooting with the Auto Lighting Optimizer settings (Low / Standard / Strong). For example, tone jumps will be corrected in scenes such as a dark sky just after sunset, in low-contrast areas, depending on how bright those areas are

Users should be aware that they are different firmware update files for the 550D and 7D

Will check what updates there are to the 7D... maybe it unlocks the physical features that the 60D got now
