That guy makes very funny reviews. Have you seen it when he tests the weather proofing on the Canon L lenses?
The camera shop here in PE is happy to let me try out the lens, they don't go quite so far as to print out copies (TBH I've never asked them to) but I do take out the CF card and view the images on the screen which is going to be harder to fool than printed copies. That's awesomes service, congrats James, Wish we could have some of that great service this side too. Happy snapping.
I wasn't suggesting anything to that effect. I was just saying the Sigma has HSM as an option, the Canon does not. I like the HSM/USM motors, and I missed it on the 18-200mm.
I wasn't even thinking about this, but looking at the photozone.de reviews (Canon, Sigma), the Sigma does appear to be a better lens all round, except in the bokeh department.
Sure it is. Faster, quieter AF is never a bad thing.I have a Canon D60 and have also started looking at the Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM. Has anyone used this lens and what has your experience been with it? The HSM motor is of no use on the Canon, only on the Nikon. Canon 18-200 IS non-USM is a little more. Thoughts?
In canon'ese it's USM, and the Canon EF-S 18-200mm doesn't have it.Also I didn't think you can even buy a non-HSM 18-200 Canon lens. I may be wrong of course.
I have a Canon D60

koffiejunkie, the Canon D60 was the second DSLR that Canon launched back in 2002. 6mp, ISO to 1000 and shutter max of 4000 et al.
Well the 18-135 is a better lens though. Why not think about the 15-85? Way better than any of those previously mentioned.
