ok ive tried this and maybe someone using their airport can advise ...

Used the network setup assistant

1. Selected the location fine
2. Chose network port configuration (well airport is selected by greyed out)
3. It then finds my Modem WiFi link and i choose it under "Airport Network"
4. It then asks me for a password for the airport network which i enter in correctly
5. it now asks if i use DHCP or PPPoE ... !????? this is where im stuck, what do i choose ... im connecting wirelessly, and why is it asking me for this?

comon there must be someone here that has a Mac

Usually I just click on the airport icon in the menubar, click on the network and voila! Type in the password...

Make sure your router setup is ok. Let your router connect to your isp and share the connection using NAT and DHCP.
Delete your current location and create a new one. Turn on airport, the network should be auto-discovered, enter your wifi password and you should be connecting just fine.

for point 5.
Its asking you if the modem is dialing out the connection or if your mac should. I am pretty certain your modem would be dialing the connection. Especially if you are unfamiliar with this and other machines are working correctly.

When you try connect do you get an error? Does it connect but you dont have internet access?
