Can't stream to Twitch despite being on 100/100mbps fibre

I posted about this in the gaming section but I think it's probably a topic for this section.

In the past when watching streamers on Twitch I'd always encounter buffering issues because of a lack of speed coming downstream. This was even the case on my 100/100mbps fibre line (up until two & a half months ago). Now I can watch streamers in "source" quality without any buffering whatsoever. However, I can't stream to their servers at anything higher than 480p quality because the best upload speed I can get to any of their servers is 2.5mbps.

So what I want to know is what do I need to do to get this working so I can stream at 720p minimum. I know it's possible because there was a 2 week period where I was getting 10mbps-11mbps upload speed to their servers and was able to stream at 720p. I have no idea why I was getting such good speeds and why I'm not getting those speeds anymore.

Should I tell my ISP about Twitch's server testing tool that shows latency and upload speeds to their different servers in the hopes that they can make something happen? Are ISPs intentionally capping speeds to Twitch? It doesn't make sense that I have the same internet speeds as many streamers on Twitch and I can't stream at the same quality they're streaming at.

I really want to find a solution to this so any helpful suggestions would be welcome.

I have the same problem. I have 100/50Mbps fibre on Openserve. I think the problem is that Twitch has horrible servers. Many people around the world complain about buffering on fast connections.

The solution that worked for me was installing a desktop Twitch app and some skin for it that made it more usable, and following some specific settings for the streaming protocol. Works 99% of the time on highest quality. It opens an instance of VLC to stream though, so if you want Twitch chat you have to also install Chatty and run them together. I did and they work perfectly.

Can't remember the instructions or where on MyBB they were given to me. If you want I can check what the software is called when I'm at my PC again.

double posting doesn't help resolve the issue, eish, I just responded on your other thread.

Nah, just crappy servers. VPN not needed for Twitch to suck.

What's weird is how some SA users don't have Twitch issues. I don't understand how some users are routed differently.

Please do! I've been struggling with this for months and I really want a solution.

EDIT: Are you talking about watching other streamers or is the app for streaming to Twitch? Because I want to be the streamer, not watch other streamers. I can already watch streamers without problems.

I gave you the instruction for Streamlink but he wants to stream to Twitch not from Twitch.

Aaahh. Nevermind then. My problem was viewing Twitch. Without Streamlink it's impossible for me to stream full quality.

Interesting that you don't have viewing issues with Twitch though.

Whoops. Thanks again for all that btw. Been so great being able to stream Twitch properly.

Just stream on YouTube its far better

If you're trying to stream an event or something to your subscribers, sure. But if you're just hoping to pick up people interested in a particular game then nothing comes close to Twitch.

Also have a 100/100 fibre line with A360 on seacom but just not getting my twitch streaming sorted. streaming from my ps4 in 720p 60 quality does not give buffer per se but rather artifacts on the stream probably because of the dropped frames due to slow upload.

I tried streaming on all the servers just not working. Watching is fine but streaming just does not work like it should which is sad actually. Twitch needs to get servers in za honestly.
