There seem to be two schools of thought on this one, with Telkom denying they are hardcapping and ISP's including me who are ? can anyone confirm if they have been hard capped ? or atleast soft capped yet ?

anyone who reaches his limit on the 2nd day of the month deserves to be hardcapped ;)

/me ducks under desk..

Yeah, but my doctor said it is still normal at my age. Thank goodness. (Not You Telkom my doctor)

adsl3g, I know of people who buy up to 10 accounts a month from me, so in essence the have every right to use as much bandwidth as possible as they pay for it.

That is truly something I've never understood. Surely, if you pay for something you're allowed to use it any bloody way you want? If I buy a car, there's not a chance in hell the dealer's going to tell me where to drive it.

I'll keep a look out for someone being hardcapped though.

That's what annoys me about the shaping thing. Likewise, when someone sells you a car they're not going to tell you that you can't turn left unless you buy the "left-turn" upgrade (although they should sell "auto-indicator-lights" for bmw drivers ;) )

Been Hardcapped

Yip - -hit it last night.

using Mweb. They say its Telkom. Mweb offered me another account - -so i swear and spit and tell them I dont do pay per use. AZZholes

Then phone telkom. Hahah - -try and speak to any of their numb minded operators at any of the numbers you can find.bigger azzholes

Then on to SAIX. I asked if the telkom ISP accounts is hardcapped. Seems it is as per the contact person there caldedSharon(0800 222 772 option #3)

The biggest AZZholes

Damn.. according to their website nothing has changed - false advertising??
..and did anyone see the flyer in the tel account - the fastest bandwidth in the country with 1mb ADSL - WBS should take them on at the ASA - but I think they got other probs they are dealing with atm.

On torrent.za.org, a chap got capped on telkomisp and all he can access is telkom.co.za, not even e-mail worx. Here we F#@*EN go...

Lol

How are the capped sposed to say if theyre hard capped or not? Surely they dont have local access to post here?

Assuming they only have one account of course :p

Very Good point !, maybe they have bought another account ?

Ok boys, hou my dop vas .........

.......... watch hierdie move ! Hold on to your knickers, I'm about to do something audacious.

For my next trick I will start up a P2P application and watch my 3GB cap disappear into the sunset.

Its time to start sending emails in text and not any form of HTML as that uses bandwidth, furthermore turn of pictures and lets get back to text browsers !

Cap ? What cap ?

You tuning me there is something wrong with my hub+cap ?

Have to fininish all my Haloween torrents, but it would seem that in Telkoms wisdom I can't have what I want.

The Internet is about freedom and without freedom of choice there can be no freedom.

Internet Harakiri, SA style = P2P or anything more interesting than Telkoms website.

I've been hard capped. Have a telkom ISP (which I cancelled today).

I cannot access ANY site except for telkom.co.za (which does'nt even show any
indication of where to purchase extra GB). telkomsa.co.za I'm not even able to access. Pretty clever from Telkom side..........

Funny thing is I still get this email "Based on the above, you have exceeded your monthly 3.00GB volume cap on the combined total and will therefore be redirected to a throttled international service."

Throttled? Bunch of monkeys running that zoo....

Going to have to look for alternatives for my Business's
