Cape Town’s plan to not run out of water again

What about the national governments plan to build more dams? Is there one, or are they just willfully endangering the people of Western Cape just because they didn't vote ANC? It is the national governments job to ensure waster security, not the local governments.

The Water and Sanitation Department was destroyed by Nomvula Mokonyane, who has since been redeployed ans still features very high on the ANC's candidate list.

Federalism ftw :coffee:

Cape Town didn't run out of water because a big chunk of people saved a load of water; while all the CoCT did was increase water tariffs for paying citizens, and increase the free water allocation for non-payers.

Saw some signs up at Newlands forest saying they're gonna be tapping into the supply there.

Jasper Slingsby from SAEON believes that attending to alien vegetation will yield massive benefits with significantly less spend than other proposed solutions.

The real issues with that plan is the assumption that the removal of alien vegetation is going to increase water availability. No one knows what the true state of water supply was before the planting of the alien vegetation.
We might in fact actually achieve the exact opposite. Some more pseudo scientific mumbo jumbo at work.
