Witnessing the current state of some police stations, I'm not surprised they want to do their own thing.

We visited Samora Michell police station to get a disposal letter for our hijacked vehicle. Just containers plonked with a wall around. No real security at all and we managed to happily walk around without anyone asking us anything.

One of the containers was the filing room, completely open and ready for someone to throw in a match. Finally got our letter and then went to the bellville pound.

On arrival the vehicle windows were left open, everything got wet. Battery was also stolen whilst at the pound and the cops were not surprised, indicating that guys normally climb through a hole in the wall and steal stuff from the vehicles.

Building looked like it hadn't seen maintenance since 1994.
